In another 10 days from now on August 1st 2oo8, The Fairmont hotel in downtown San Jose, will be under a world microscope, all eyes and ears except the 1,000-person ballroom will be dying to see and hear the outcome of Yahoo Annual Shareholder Meeting

The pitched battle between Carl Icahn and Yahoo for control of its board could will revolve on whether Icahn can convince Gordon Crawford of Capital Research and Bill Miller of Legg Mason, (Yahoo’s two largest institutional investors) to vote for his alternate slate of directors. As of May 7, they each controlled 16 percent and 6.7 percent of Yahoo stock, respectively. Icahn owns at least 4 percent. That’s more than a quarter of the voting shares between the three of them.
As for what’ll happen at the meeting, Yahoo knows what it wants. In the regulatory filing, bold, capitalized letters state, “OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS UNANIMOUSLY RECOMMENDS A VOTE FOR THE ELECTION OF ALL OF THE BOARD’S NOMINEES ON THE ENCLOSED WHITE PROXY CARD AND URGES YOU NOT TO SIGN OR RETURN ANY PROXY CARD SENT TO YOU BY THE ICAHN ENTITIES.”
But this time for sure this “Thoroughbred” Corporate Raider wont sell all his mares and weanlings
