Last thing OBAMA would have wished for

With the presidential elections coming close on the heels we have a splurge of negative twist going around in a presidential campaign air filled with worst accusations of race-baiting and gutter politics

Here we have John McCain’s campaign accusing Barack Obama of playing racial politics. The twist in the campaign for the November 4 election was prompted by a McCain television advertisement that called Obama a celebrity akin to star-crossed U.S. personalities Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.

“Barack Obama has played the race card, and he played it from the bottom of the deck. It’s divisive, negative, shameful and wrong,” McCain campaign manager Rick Davis said in a written statement.

Obama responded firmly and said McCain was trying to scare voters away from him by pointing out he has “a funny name, and he doesn’t look like all the presidents on the dollar bills and the five dollar bills.”

Looking at the current scenario, last thing Obama would have wished for is to stay away from the firm support of black rappers in his favor. Obama must be cursing himself for acknowledging Ludacris as his favorite rapper. And look what Luda comes up with, a profanity laced song “Politics (Obama is Here)” that also takes pokes at George W. Bush, Hillary Clinton and John McCain.

Obama camp isn’t exactly embracing the Song. In past interviews, Obama has stated that he likes Luda’s music.

In the song, Ludacris raps of himself:

“You never should have doubted with a slot in the prez’s iPod/I’m one of his favorite rappers.”

Later, he adds: “You can’t stop what’s about to happen/The first black president/We going to paint the White House black/The world is ready for change because Obama is here.”

Luda “Chris Bridges”, calls the current president “the worst,” refers to Clinton using a less than genteel definition of a female canine and mocks McCain’s age and suggests he needs a wheelchair.

On The Politico.com, political blogger Ben Smith reports that the Obama camp is condemning the song. The site posted the following quote from Obama spokesperson Bill Burton: “As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to. This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics.”

Be it a race card or a funny name, or no resemblance to all the presidents on the dollar bills it doesn’t change my opinion on who I’m going to vote for!

About 2,000 Islamist women gathered at the radical Red Mosque in the Pakistani capital and vowed to raise their children for holy war, only a few days ago when the lives of 18 people were taken at a rally by a suicide bomber. Yet, people haven’t learned their lessons. Today, there was a large gathering at the Red Mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The Red Mosque is a place of worship by radical and extremist Muslims. The Red Mosque and an adjoining women’s madrasa, or religious school, had for years been a bastion of militant support in Islamabad and the clerics and their followers had waged an increasingly defiant campaign to enforce Taliban rule.

Several thousand men attended a similar rally on Sunday to mark the anniversary of the July 10 commando raid that ended a week-long siege that began when gunmen from the mosque clashed with police.Shortly after the Sunday rally ended, a suicide bomber attacked police who had been guarding the gathering killing 18 people, all but three of them policemen.

Mainly, this large gathering was attended by women. This is an interesting yet frightening sight. These women have made a vow to raise their children for jihad. Yup, these women are going to teach their children to become radical Islamists. Get used to it. Yes, Pakistan still has the problem of Islamic extremism.

Chanting slogans of “jihad is our way”, burqa-clad women, some with babies, listened to fiery speeches from the daughter of the mosque’s jailed cleric on the eve of the anniversary of a commando raid on the complex in which more than 100 people died.

“Our mujahideen laid down their lives for the enforcement of the Islamic system in Pakistan. We are left behind to carry forward their mission

The crowd was responding with shrill chants of:

“we are ready” and “al jihad”. “We should prepare our children and men for jihad”
.
“We are not terrorists. Islam does not teach terrorism … America and its stooges are terrorists”

“We are holding this rally to tell the world we are alive and in high spirits. Islam can never be wiped out. It grows more after martyrs shed their blood.”

My question is, Is America Listening, will this be discussed in the 2008 US Presidential Elections

KASHMIR ON THE BOIL

The political situation in Kashmir valley is reminiscent of the events of 1990, when lakhs of Kashmiri Muslims came out on the streets shouting themselves hoarse with “Hum kya chahte Aazadi” (we want independence).Ostensibly, these protests are against Indian “moves” to change the demography of Kashmir and a mass movement to preserve its ecology, as Mufti Mohammed Sayed and his Hurriyat masters would have the gullible press and ill informed Indian leadership to believe. None of these causes will stand close scrutiny. The protests are well orchestrated and thoughtfully timed to serve a purely political purpose. That Mufti is merely his master’s (Hurriyat) voice is, by now, well known and widely documented. Remember the last Assembly elections? It was an open secret that PDP was supported by the militants. Mandela off U.S. terrorism watch list

US President Bush George W. Bush today signed the bill H.R. 5690, which removes the African National Congress Leader and Former South African President Nelson Mandela to be removed from U.S. terrorism watch lists. As a result Nobel Laureate and former South African President Nelson Mandela is no longer considered a terrorists in the United States.

The iconic leader, who celebrates his 90th birthday this year, will be able to apply for a visa to United States without triggering additional investigations. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has called the additional review of ANC members’ visas “embarrassing” and has advocated a legislative change to lift it.

Mandela and other members of the African National Congress have been on the list because of their fight against South Africa’s apartheid regime, which gave way to majority rule in 1994.

Apartheid was the nation’s system of legalized racial segregation that was enforced by the National Party government between 1948 and 1994.

He spent 27 years in prison on charges that included sabotage committed while he spearheaded the struggle against apartheid. He was released in 1990.

The rise of Obama was predicted in 2005

it was predicted much before - Obama’s rise in the premier politics of United States. It was when the self-confessed “funny name” was virtually a non-entity and no one could have believed he would oust Hillary Clinton as Democratic candidate.

A left-leaning British magazine listed Obama at the head of a 10-member rundown of “people who could change the world”- a story dating back to 2005. It pointed out that Obama was the only “out-and-out politician” it chose, in the New Statesman. The well-written article in New Statesman is now seen as nothing short of miraculous.

Who is racist?

Filed Under (Politics) by Sheern Tami on 02-06-2008

Who is racist, Hillary or Obama? Who is racist, American white or black?

As per data, 85% of blacks voted for Obama. Whom did the rest of 15% vote?
As per data, 50% of whites voted for Hillary. Whom did the rest of 50% vote?
As per data, 60% of white women voted for Obama.
[All figures approx.]

Who is more naive, Obama or Hillary, with each one having less than a decade political experience?
Is America ready to experiment on a presidential position with naives?
Is McCain too old for the post of president-ship?
So, if America doesn’t want a naive or an old, then what is the option? [unfortunatley none]

Lot’s of unanswered questions!

* Crude oil prices will rise to $130 per barrel, at least
